Ocean Beach Ibiza

While holidaying on the White Isle, I visited Ocean Beach Ibiza in San Antonio.  If you’re a regular reader of Mail Online then you’ll be familiar with their distinct orange logo in the background of pics of bikini clad celebs sipping champagne.  Recent visitors include Abbie Clancy, Denise Van Outen, footballer Mario Ballotelli and model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

Ocean Beach Ibiza is owned by Duane Lineker (Gary Lineker’s nephew)  and club entrepreneur Tony Truman. The club opened in June 2012 and has invigorated the San Antonio area. I enjoyed a few cocktails in the sun with Duane and Tony as they chatted about the new Ocean Beach Ibiza Hotel Complex and revealed that the party brand is coming to London, with an Ocean Beach Ibiza pop up.

"We pride ourselves on being able to deliver a luxury service which I guess is why the Ocean Beach Ibiza is so popular with celebrities.  Extending the brand to include a hotel seemed naturally the next step for us," Tony tells me. "We couldn't open the hotel immediately as five star but we're committed to becoming a worthy five star complex in the very near future."

The 85-room luxury four star hotel complex opened this summer, with most of the rooms offering amazing views of San Antonio Bay. To celebrate the hotel's first summer,  all guests will receive complimentary access to the famous Beach Club for the entire duration of their stay as well as no charge for VIP Bed Cover.

And if you can't make it to Ibiza, you can still look forward to some poolside action - an Ocean Beach Club pop up is coming to London! "We’re looking into it," Tony reveals. "I think the Sheraton Skyline Hotel at Heathrow would be the perfect venue. There’s a cocktail bar in the middle of the pool and a big dancefloor. And there are hotel rooms so everyone can stay over!"

  1. Ibiza: hardcore food scene

  2. As well as being party paradise Ibiza is also foodie heaven! Duane Lineker gave me his top nosh recommendations to sandwich inbetween some hardcore partying:

"Friday night is our main pool party at Ocean Beach and have dinner watching the sunset on our roof garden which serves mediterranean cuisine. Nothing beats watching the sunset in San Antonio as you can’t see it anywhere else on the island.

On Saturday, sunbathe and chill at Blue Marlin in Cala Jondal at the south of the island but for lunch go next door to Yemanja where the food is delicious. I especially love their seafood paella.

In the evening, the hottest place to be seen in is Sacco, a Japanese fusion restaurant –it’s right out in the sticks, in San Lorenzo but well worth a visit. If you want authentic Iberican cuisine Can Pau is a must. Its one of the oldest restaurants on the island. Afterwards have a lazy Sunday brunch at El Chiringuito.  Finally, end the weekend partying Avicii at Ushuaia or Blue Marlin’s famous Sunday sundown."
